New Committee Membership and Leadership Openings

The CoC and the National Accreditation Program for Rectal Cancer (NAPRC) are accepting applications for new volunteers for committee membership. Applicants must be Fellows of the American College of Surgeons.

New committee members are appointed to a 3-year term and are eligible for reappointment to a second 3-year term based on performance, which includes a formal assessment of meeting attendance and engagement. Applications from women, underrepresented communities, and those of diverse backgrounds are encouraged. Interested candidates may apply by submitting a Committee Member Application Form.

Candidates for committee chair or vice-chair roles must be current members of the committee. Candidates for committee chair must have served in a leadership role within the committee, typically as vice-chair (some exceptions may apply). Applicants must also be Fellows of the American College of Surgeons.

Committee chairs will be appointed to a 2-year, nonrenewable term. Committee vice-chairs will be appointed to a 1-year term, with eligibility to renew once. Interested candidates should review and submit the Committee Leader Application Form.

The deadline for all applications is June 30. New committee members and leaders will be announced in the fall. Contact cpmembership@facs.org with any questions.
