Cancer Care the Focus of Clinical Congress 2023 Sessions

June 29, 2023

Mark your calendars for Monday, October 23, when cancer care experts will present on three important topics at Clinical Congress 2023 in Boston, MA.

PS102. Contemporary Management of Pancreatic Neuroendocrine Tumors  (PNET)

New diagnostic and therapeutic modalities have revolutionized the workup and treatment of both primary and metastatic PNETs. This panel session will discuss the current recommended work up of both functioning and non-functioning primary PNETs as well as updated management recommendations including indications for resection.

PS107. Multidisciplinary Care of the Advanced Melanoma Patient

The care of patients with advanced cutaneous melanoma has evolved significantly in the last decade with advances in immunotherapy. Staging and recommendations for treatment have evolved to reflect these changes, yet surgery is still the definitive treatment of this disease. Questions yet unanswered include surgical margins for primary disease, the role of complete lymph node dissection still unanswered by the second Multicenter Selective Lymphadenectomy Trials (MSLT-II), and the role of surgery in advanced metastatic disease.

SC05. Fundamentals of Oncoplastic Breast Surgery

For general and breast surgeons who have never performed oncoplastic surgery, this review of fundamental elements of oncoplastic breast surgery will include applied anatomy, imaging, patient assessment, and patient selection. Presenters will also review simple techniques to improve lumpectomy results and management of excess skin, "dog-ears," and tissue during simple mastectomy without reconstruction.
