American Cancer Society Launches Financial Navigation Learning Collaborative

September 19, 2024

The American Cancer Society is offering a new learning collaborative this fall to help cancer centers improve their financial navigation services. The application for participation for the Financial Navigation Learning Collaborative will close October 4 and selected sites will be notified by October 15, with sessions starting in November. One individual at each institution participating in the learning collaborative will be eligible to receive free training in the American Cancer Society Leadership in Oncology Navigation (ACS LION™) program, a standardized training and credentialing program that helps navigators deliver support to individuals, caregivers, and families experiencing cancer. ACS LION meets the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services training requirements for "Principal Illness Navigation" reimbursement and is aligned to professional oncology navigation standards.

New Prostate Cancer Awareness Month Marketing Tools Available

September is Prostate Cancer Awareness Month. According to the American Cancer Society Cancer Facts & Figures 2023, there will be an estimated 288,300 new cases of prostate cancer diagnosed in the US and 34,700 men will die from the disease this year.
