Cancer Programs to Launch Social Determinants of Health Screening Survey

October 3, 2024

The ACS Commission on Cancer (CoC) and Cancer Research Program (CRP) will soon be administering a Social Determinants of Health Screening Survey to CoC-accredited institutions to understand current social determinants of health (SDOH) screening practices used by these institutions in the outpatient setting to meet the nonmedical needs of their patients.

These responses will provide critical information to increase our understanding of how the needs of diverse cancer populations can be best identified and addressed. No incentives, including credit for any CoC standard, will be provided for participation in the survey.

The Cancer Program Administrator at each CoC-accredited facility will receive an email from REDCap@facs.org in the coming weeks. Your feedback is extremely valuable; submit the survey so your program’s experience with SDOH screening is represented.

Please see the July/August issue of the ACS Bulletin for more information on the role of SDOH screening on cancer outcomes. If you have questions, reach out to cancerresearchprogram@facs.org.
