NAPBC Standards Updates

The NAPBC has released an updated version of its accreditation standards, Optimal Resources for Breast Care (2024 Standards). Please review the NAPBC Standards and the NAPBC Standards Changelog for complete information on these updates. A few of the most substantive updates are featured below. The updated standards and changelog are now available on the NAPBC website.

Standard 4.5– Navigation Professional Credentials: The list of approved navigation professional training programs has been updated to include Certified Oncology Social Worker (OSW-C).

Standard 5.4–Management of Patients at Increased Risk for Breast Cancer: This standard has been updated to clarify that the discussion of risk reduction strategies may be limited to patients receiving care in a high-risk breast program or high-risk clinic.

Standard 5.15–Survivorship: This standard has been updated in include examples related to the management of lymphedema in patients with breast disease or breast cancer.

Appendix–Functional Assessment Resources: This section has been updated to include resources related to the management of lymphedema in patients with breast disease or breast cancer.
