Completeness and Default Overuse Report Now Available in RCRS Operational Reports

November 16, 2023

The National Cancer Database (NCDB) has released the Rapid Cancer Reporting System (RCRS) Completeness and Default Overuse Report. The legacy Completeness Report has been removed from QPort and migrated to the RCRS platform along with some new features, including weekly data updates and tools for assessing the completeness of your annual cohort of cases.

The Data Item Completeness Report provides feedback to CoC-accredited facilities about submission of missing, unknown, or non-specific information for NCDB required data items. This report has been streamlined and designed to focus on four categories in line with the phases of concurrent abstracting:

  1. Incomplete Cases
  2. AJCC Staging
  3. Treatment
  4. Quality Improvement

The Cohort Completeness Report shows completed case totals (“cohorts”) over the years of data in RCRS. These totals can be used to assess a registry’s progress for abstracting and submitting cases monthly compared to prior years’ totals and may be used to assess future standards for timely and complete submissions. The cohorts are also broken down by disease site for additional insight.

More information on how to access and use this report is available in the Completeness and Default Overuse Report User Guide in the RCRS Library. For questions, please contact NCDB@facs.org.
