Authors Review Just ASK Results in JCO

December 5, 2024

In an article published in the Journal of Clinical Oncology (JCO), authors reviewed the results of the ACS Cancer Programs Just ASK national quality improvement initiative, which aimed to increase implementation of smoking assessment among accredited programs. Just ASK is the latest, and by far the largest, endeavor to improve assessment of cancer patients' smoking status. Participants reported significant advances within a short time span and study results underscore the potential for national accreditation organizations to transform oncology practice.

September is Prostate Cancer Awareness Month. According to the American Cancer Society Cancer Facts & Figures 2023, there will be an estimated 288,300 new cases of prostate cancer diagnosed in the US and 34,700 men will die from the disease this year.
