NCDB Announces Technology Upgrade

The NCDB is upgrading the technology used to compute and process case-level data into Quality Measure labels and compliance rates. As we convert our existing logic into the new platform, it is possible that there may be small differences in the way a case is specifically labeled in the RCRS Quality Measure report. The Quality Measures eligibility and compliance labels are consistent with the clinical logic as defined in the Quality Measures user documentation, which has not changed.

The Gastric GCTRT measure is the first measure to be migrated. No further action on the part of the registrars is required at this time. As a consistent best practice, if you discover a quality measure case that you believe is in error, first review that case against the quality measure logic posted in the RCRS. If a discrepancy is found, email NCDB@facs.org with the information for additional assistance. As the remaining quality measures are migrated in 2023, we will post additional communications so you are aware; however, no further action will be required on your end.
