The ACS will host the 16th Annual Surgical Simulation Summit March 2–4, 2023, at the Swissôtel in downtown Chicago, IL. We can’t wait to welcome attendees back to live and in-person learning! More than 300 people typically attend the Summit, which brings together surgeons and simulation center directors, educators, administrators, engineers, and researchers to share best practices, present innovative research, and discuss the latest advances in simulation-based surgical education and training.
The Summit will feature a keynote address by Richard K. Reznick, MD, FACS, professor of surgery and dean emeritus at Queen’s University in Kingston, ON. Panel sessions, scientific paper presentations, poster rounds, and interactive workshops will also be offered. In addition, the event will include a collaborative session with the American Society of Anesthesiologists and the popular MORE (Management, Operations, Research and Education) Track. A networking reception will be hosted on Friday evening, March 3, for all attendees, including our colleagues from the American Society of Anesthesiologists.
The meeting highlights the best simulation education and training research in the field. Anyone who is involved in simulation-based education or surgical simulation based-training is encouraged to submit an abstract(s) for consideration by the September 15, 2022, deadline.
There will be more news to come about the 2023 Summit, including our phenomenal lineup of speakers and sessions, so stay tuned and save this date on your calendars! Registration will open in December, and our website will continue to be updated as meeting details are announced.
