Honors Committee

The Honors Committee is a Regental Committee responsible for administering and recommending nominees for seven College awards and honors to the Board of Regents for their final approval:

How to Nominate

Fellows of the College are encouraged to submit nominations for individuals that fit the criteria associated with the specific award or honor for consideration by the Honors Committee and Board of Regents. Nominations are encouraged of women, people of color, and individuals of diverse backgrounds.

The Honors Committee meets three times a year and awards and honors are considered by the committee on the following schedule:

  • February – Sheen Award and Distinguished Lifetime Military Contribution Award
  • June – Martin Memorial Lecturer, Distinguished Service Award, Jacobson Innovation Award, Lifetime Achievement Award
  • October – Honorary Fellows

Note:  Nominations do not automatically lead to selection and not all awards or honors are presented annually.

Process for Submitting Nominations

Nominations are accepted year-round. The nomination process is as follows:

  • Click on the link above for the award or honor you would like to nominate someone for.
  • Review the award/honor criteria and complete the Nomination Form.
  • On the award/honor page, click on the Nomination Form link and provide the following information:
    • Contact information for the nominator and nominee.
    • Upload a minimum of two letters of support which list accomplishments of the nominee and how they meet the criteria for the award or honor.
    • Upload a current curriculum vitae of the nominee.
    • Upload a short biography of the nominee.
  • Note – please keep the nomination confidential from the proposed nominee.

*** Recommendations of presenters and topics for the Martin Memorial Lecture should be emailed directly to Ken Puttbach at kputtbach@facs.org. A nomination form is not required.
