Dual Board Certified in Colon & Rectal Surgery and General Surgery with specialty training in and practice dedicated to advanced colon/rectal cancer surgery and inflammatory bowel disease (Ulcerative Colitis and Crohn's disease), Dr. Landmann specializes in performing robotics and minimally invasive (laparoscopic) surgery for patients to minimize pain and enhance recovery for patients. He is a nationwide leader in robotic sphincter-sparing/preserving rectal cancer surgery co-directing courses/symposium in this topic. Additionally, he has one of the highest volumes in performing restorative procedures for both rectal cancer and ulcerative colitis (restorative proctocolectomy with ileal pouch anal anastomosis/J-pouch procedures). He currently serves as the chair of the ASCRS Rectal Cancer Coordinating Committee. THis committee serves as the source and disease experts in Rectal Cancer for the country. He also works with the ACS Commission on Cancer and the National Accreditation Programs in Rectal Cancer (NAPRC). Projects also include creation of national quality initiatives and databases.
