Mayur Narayan, MD, MPH, MBA, MHPE, FACS, FCCM, FICS, FACT, FAIM, MAMSE is Professor of Surgery,Chief of Acute Care Surgery, &Trauma Medical Director at Rutgers–Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. He is Director of the ACS Fellowship, Director of Project AiCCESS [Artificial Intelligence for Comprehensive Care, Equity and Sustainability in Surgery] and Founder/Executive Director of the Rutgers Acute Care Surgery Research Lab [RASR]. He is an internationally recognized expert in trauma care & surgical education. He is a member of Alpha Omega Alpha & Gold Humanism Honor Society. He is the recipient of the 2011 Leonard Tow Humanism Award. In 2012, the Arnold P. Gold Foundation awarded him the Gold Doctor Award. In 2012 & 2013, he was awarded the Golden Apple Teaching Award for Best Clinical Faculty by the American Medical Student Association. In 2018, he was inducted as Associate Member of the ACS Academy of Master Surgeon Educators (inaugural class). In 2023, he was inducted into the Academy of Master Surgeon Educators as a full member, conferring him the title of MAMSE. In 2024, he was awarded the 6th National Oration in Trauma by the Indian Society of Trauma and Acute Care (ISTAC) and concurrently launched the 4th edition of the Trauma Evaluation and Management [TEAM] course for which he serves as Editor & Program Chair. In 2025, Dr. Narayan was awarded the Global Educator of the Year for Advanced Trauma Life Support, the flagship course for trauma care around the world, by the ACS COT. He is past president of American College of International Medicine and currently President-Elect and Chair of the Education Committee of the Surgical Critical Care Program Directors Society and President-Elect of the International College of Surgeons. He serves on the National Steering Committee of the ACS/ASE Medical Student Simulation-Based Surgical Skills Curriculum and on the Senior Educatory Advisory Board (SEAB) for the ACS COT. He was appointed to the ACS National COT in 2021.
