Sherif Abdel-Misih, MD FACS

I am a Clinical Professor of Surgery at the Stony Brook University Hospital with a clinical focus on complex management of patients with gastrointestinal cancers. I aim to pursue more effective as well as less invasive surgical treatments when appropriate through innovation and research in order to achieve the goals of cancer disease control and potential cure. Additionally, I have academic focus on surgical education with goals to enhance and improve the surgical education of our future surgeons and physicians. For my efforts to date, I was humbled to be inducted into the ACS Academy of Master Surgeon Educators as an Associate Member and am also privileged to currently serve as the Program Director for the Stony Brook University Hospital General Surgery Residency training program.
