Biography

Dr. Neil Tanna is a Double Board-Certified Plastic Surgeon with a practice focused in aesthetic and reconstructive surgery of the face and breast. He serves as Vice President of Women's Surgical Services at Northwell Health and Professor of Surgery at Zucker School of Medicine. Prior to this he served as founding Medical Director of the Northwell Health Syosset SurgiCenter. Dr. Tanna is among a very small group of Plastic Surgeons in the world to have completed formal training in Otolaryngology, Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery, and Microvascular Surgery. After completing his medical training in one of the few combined six-year accelerated track medical programs in the country, Dr. Tanna spent an additional eight years training to become a Plastic Surgeon. He completed a full Otolaryngology – Head & Neck Surgery residency at The George Washington University. He then pursued further training and completed a second full residency in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). This was followed by a fellowship in advanced reconstructive and microvascular surgery at the Institute of Reconstructive Plastic Surgery at New York University (NYU). Dr. Tanna also holds a MBA in healthcare management from The George Washington University. Dr. Neil Tanna is passionate about the art and science of plastic surgery. In 2018, Dr. Tanna was promoted to the rank of Professor of Plastic Surgery with the Zucker School of Medicine, making him one of the youngest full professors at Northwell Health. His work has been published in over 100 peer-reviewed articles in prestigious medical journals. He has been invited to present at more than 100 national and international scientific meetings. He is currently Guest Editor for the Business and Practice Management section of Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery (PRS) Journal. In addition, he is an active member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the Aesthetic Society, and the American College of Surgeons.
