Biography

Maggie is a post-doctoral fellow at the University of Alabama at Birmingham Heersink School of Medicine, focusing on transplantation surgery and health policy. She is a NIH TL1 fellow and is pursuing her Master's in Public Health with a concentration in Health Policy and Organization. Maggie will return to the University of Mississippi Medical Center in July of 2025 to complete her general surgery training, then will complete a fellowship in abdominal transplant surgery to further her goal of becoming a transplant surgeon-scientist. Her research interests include equity and ethics in transplantation, with a particular focus on reducing disparities in organ allocation and care delivery.
