The Geriatric Surgery Verification Program (GSV) standards manual, Optimal Resources for Geriatric Surgery, is available for download.
These standards detail the principles regarding resource standards, quality improvement and safety processes, data collection, and a verification process. The program evaluates the care, aligned to the standards and expected scope of practice at each institution. These standards apply to both the GSV Focused and Comprehensive Level.
The GSV Program is pleased to present a new level of participation, the Geriatric Surgery Verification (Age-Friendly) Level, which consists of six program standards and aligns with the requirements of the new Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) Age Friendly Hospital Measure. The GSV (Age-Friendly) Level Standards are available to program participants beginning January 2025. If you are interested in applying for this level, please submit your hospital’s application.
The development of the GSV Standards was made possible in part by the generous support of The John A. Hartford Foundation (JAHF).
