It is required that express written permission is received and/or a license agreement is executed before there is any use of American College of Surgeons’ (ACS) Cancer Accreditation copyrighted materials. This includes, but is not limited to, the following copyrighted publications and related materials/resources (e.g. templates, FAQs):
Without limiting ACS’ rights, individuals from accredited programs or programs pursuing accreditation do not need to request permission for the following uses as long as it is for purposes of achieving or maintaining accreditation:
Permission is also not required for citation in academic publications.

In most cases, payment of a fee will be required before permission is granted. The fee assessed for approved permission requests will be determined based on the requested use and will typically range from $250-$500. If the request for permission is denied, no fee will be assessed.
If a license agreement is required, required payments will be discussed during the licensing process.

Once reviewed by ACS Staff, information on next steps and, if applicable, an overview of required fees will be provided. Please allow at least 10 business days for an update.
