Patients with breast cancer are at risk for complications and symptoms that can negatively impact treatment and affect recovery. The NAPBC-accreditation program standards promote a healthy lifestyle with the goal of decreasing the patient’s risk for disease recurrence and improving the patient’s post-cancer well-being.
The webinar will discuss exercise and rehabilitation as well as good nutrition both during and after treatment; two important activities that foster good outcomes for patients with breast cancer. The content will review the current guidelines and evidence supporting both activities in addition to the challenges patients face when adopting these behaviors and discuss how both programs factor into the NAPBC standard addressing survivorship.
