The American College of Surgeons Surgeon Specific Registry Practice Improvement Initiative (SSR PII) - Quality Case Data Review and Reflection (QCDRR) assists all surgeons with their continuous case data collection and data review, including outcomes data, by identifying trends, gaps, and performance improvement opportunities. To get started, “Enroll” and “Register now” for the PII BASICS educational webinar. You will learn how to best collect, review, and compare your individual case data to aggregated data real-time (Benchmarking Report) with the purpose of enhancing the quality of surgical care. Interactive sessions (Peer Engagement Online meetings) allow you to deepen your learning in a small peer surgeon group setting. As these sessions will become available throughout the year they will be announced via email and on this website. Additionally, the SSR PII offers you an opportunity to obtain Continuing Medical Education (CME) credit at the conclusion of the 11-month cycle in December 2023 (from January 15, 2023 through December 15, 2023). This activity (SSR PII) was developed by surgeons for surgeons.
To obtain your CME (continuing medical education) credit at the end of this activity you need to participate in at least one PII BASICS webinar, comply with your continuous recommended case data collection and monthly data review, the peer engagement meetings (online), and complete the evaluation form.
Participants of this PII activity can also earn CME credit for self-assessment purposes. To be eligible for self-assessment credit, participants must attend and comply with the various activities mentioned above and in addition, achieve a 75% correct passing score on the posttest (with unlimited attempts). The posttest will be administered in two phases, in early August (posttest 1) and November/December (posttest 2). Each one must be completed within 10 business days.
AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™
The American College of Surgeons designates this Other activity (semi-annual report review and reflection) for a maximum of 28.50 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity. Of the AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ listed above, a maximum of 10.00 credits meet the requirements for Self-Assessment.
The SSR PII BASICS webinar will cover the value, benefits, and uses of SSR PII QCDRR 2023 and all aspects of successful participation throughout the 11-month cycle.

What surgeons say about the SSR PII QCDRR:
The interactive sessions (Peer Engagement Online meetings) offers you an opportunity to increase and deepen your learning in a small peer surgeon group setting. These sessions (three throughout 2023) will be announced as they become available for registration via email and on this website (April; July/August, and Oct./Nov). All participants will be able to share their experiences and reflection, describe their findings, issues, gaps, and possible improvement actions/projects. This SSR PII Peer Engagement Online Meeting will be facilitated by a surgeon member of the SSR PII Planning Committee.
