The PIPS program is designed to help hospitals achieve the highest quality of trauma care for their patients. This goal is accomplished by providing guidelines for management of specific injuries, performance improvement tools and strategies to assure patient safety and optimal outcomes.
These guidelines are created by leading health care professionals in each field. They provide a valuable resource for trauma centers to evaluate potential opportunities for modifying their practices and give them tools to help evaluate their implementation.
ACS/AAST partnership to create short, meaningful protocols to guide trauma centers’ development of their own protocols most appropriate to their environment.
The MRS is an anonymous means of reporting cases with potentially preventable adverse outcomes. Cases are reviewed by a team of experts and evidence-based strategies are identified that might prevent another similar event.
