Committee on Global Engagement Advocacy Subcommittee

The ACS H.O.P.E. Advocacy Subcommittee works with the ACS Division of Advocacy and Health Policy to push the global surgery agenda forward. Current initiatives include advocating at the US congressional level to allocate funds for neglected surgical conditions and identify a pathway to allow foreign physicians to come to the US and participate in short-term, hands-on clinical education experiences. Some members of this subcommittee represent the ACS on the Global Health Council to ensure that global surgical needs are prioritized within the international health policy space (WHO, UNDP, etc.).
