The Accreditation Review Committee (ARC) consists of Fellows of the American College of Surgeons (ACS) who have expertise in various aspects of simulation-based surgical education and training. In addition, members of the Committee direct their own Accredited Education Institute (AEI).
Accreditation Review Committee Roster
The ARC, which meets twice a year, makes accreditation decisions and evaluations based on data gathered by surveyors during an in person or virtual site visit of an AEI. The data is presented to an individual reviewer who determines the level of compliance for each criterion as stated in the accreditation standards. A recommendation is made to the Committee that then votes to approve whether an institution can become or remain accredited for a 5-year term.
